What you need

  • A recommendation letter showing your experience, from a contractor, quantity surveyor, architect or engineer (provisional)
  • A copy of your national ID card
  • A passport-size photo

Steps

  1. On nca.go.ke, go to the 'Construction workers' tab and click 'Accreditation'.
  2. Click 'Register' and create an account, filling in every field.
  3. Click 'New Application', choose the accreditation type and attach your documents.
  4. NCA emails you an invoice (and sends an SMS). Pay by M-Pesa or bank, then enter the transaction number in your account.

Watch out

  • The card is valid for 3 years. After that you must renew it.
  • Use an email and phone number you can reach: the payment invoice is sent there.

Who can apply

  • Construction workers (fundis) and construction site supervisors. NCA accredits and certifies both.
  • Provisional accreditation is for workers who can prove experience with a recommendation letter from a contractor, quantity surveyor, architect or engineer.
