Steps

1. Go to Mathari hospital in Muthaiga, along Thika Road, Nairobi.
2. Register at the Health Records desk at the psychiatric general outpatient. It is open 24/7 and is the first stop for every patient.
3. In a mental health crisis, ask for psychiatric emergency services.
4. Health Records books your follow-up appointments and specialist clinics.
5. For drug or alcohol addiction: the MAT clinic for opioid users runs every day; the CSAT clinic for alcohol, bhang, khat and other drugs runs on Tuesdays.

Who can apply

• People with mental disorders referred from other health facilities for specialised care.
• Children and teenagers, with their families, at the child and adolescent clinic (outpatient only for now).
