For an emergency, go straight to the Emergency Department at MTRH's main entrance in Eldoret. For other care, your county or private hospital refers you through MTRH's Referral Nurse; at MTRH you register, pay and bring your full medical history.

Steps
- In an emergency, go straight to the Emergency Department at the hospital's main entrance.
- If another hospital is sending you, it coordinates with MTRH's Referral Nurse, who also confirms whether MTRH offers the service you need.
- At MTRH, register, pay and give your full medical history. Care should start within 30 minutes.
- After you are seen, you are either booked to see a consultant or sent home.

Watch out
- The emergency unit has an ambulatory side for stable patients; very sick patients are stabilised first in the emergency room.
- Visiting hours are 1pm to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm.
- If you want a consultant of your choice, ask about the Private Wing.
