Remove a bank or financier from your logbook (logbook discharge)
National Transport and Safety Authority · sources read 30 Sep 2026
Once you clear the car loan, the bank or financier must release its interest through the NTSA system (asset financing discharge). You then get a new eLogbook in your name that you download from your NTSA portal account.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Through your bank or financier, then the NTSA service portal (eCitizen login) to download the new eLogbook
Steps
- Finish paying the loan and ask your bank or financier to release (discharge) its interest on the vehicle with NTSA.
- When the discharge is done, log in to the NTSA service portal with eCitizen. The discharge generates a new eLogbook.
- Open your vehicle, click LOGBOOK, then DOWNLOAD to get your eLogbook.
Watch out
- Until the lender releases its interest, NTSA won't transfer the car or reissue the logbook, so you can't sell it cleanly.
- Only you, the registered owner, can download the eLogbook. Ignore anyone on social media offering to get it for you.
Who can apply
- Vehicle owners whose car was bought on a loan with a bank or financier recorded on the logbook
