TSC teacher salary scales and yearly increments (CBA)
Teachers Service Commission · sources read 5 Oct 2026
Teachers' salary scales and increments come from the TSC collective bargaining agreement (CBA), currently the 2025-2029 CBA, paid in phases. TSC has published implementation circulars for Phase 1 and Phase 2 on its Current Circulars page. Read the circular, then check your own new pay on your T-Pay payslip, not on news sites.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Nothing to apply for: read the CBA circulars on tsc.go.ke (Downloads > Current Circulars) and see your pay on T-Pay (tpay.tsc.go.ke)
Steps
- Go to tsc.go.ke > Downloads > Current Circulars and open the latest CBA circular: "IMPLEMENTATION OF PHASE 2 OF THE CBA 2025-2029 FOR TEACHERS" (dated 21 July 2026), or "Implementation Circular- Phase 1 of the 2025-2029 CBA" for the first phase. These are TSC's own statements of the new pay.
- The Phase 1 circular is still listed on the same page if you need the earlier round of increments.
- Log in to T-Pay and open your latest payslip to see the basic pay and allowances you are actually being paid.
Watch out
- TSC cannot set pay on its own: its CBA proposals go to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) and Treasury, and SRC's advice is binding. Treat "good news" pay figures on blogs as rumours until TSC publishes a circular.
- Public sector CBAs run for four years, so increments are paid in the phases set out in the CBA, not automatically every year.
