Email KEBS Metrology (info.metrology@kebs.org) for a calibration quotation, take the quotation to the KEBS cash office for a proforma invoice, pay on eCitizen, then deliver the equipment to KEBS (or have KEBS calibrate on site).
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- By email to KEBS Metrology (info.metrology@kebs.org); equipment goes to KEBS Metrology, Popo Road off Mombasa Road, Nairobi, or KEBS calibrates on site
What you need
- Quotation request with: the official name and address (as it should appear on the certificate), the equipment's name, make and model, its measurement range, and whether calibration is on site or at KEBS
- The KEBS quotation and the proforma invoice (with the reference number for eCitizen)
Steps
- Email info.metrology@kebs.org asking for a calibration quotation, with your details and the equipment details. KEBS replies with a quotation.
- Take the quotation to the KEBS cash office to get a proforma invoice with a payment reference number.
- Pay the exact amount on eCitizen, quoting the reference number.
- Deliver the equipment to KEBS by hand or by courier. If you asked for on-site calibration, KEBS officers will contact you to plan the visit.
Watch out
- Pay the exact amount on eCitizen. Paying more or less means the payment is reversed and repeated, which can cost you extra charges.
- If you send equipment by courier, tell the courier exactly how to handle it so it is not damaged in transit.
Who can apply
- Companies or individuals with equipment used in industry, research, schools, aviation or health, for example weighing scales, thermometers, blood pressure machines, flow meters, tanks and pressure gauges.
