What you need

  • Your medicine's pack, to read the product name and batch number

Steps

  1. Go to web.pharmacyboardkenya.org/recalls-and-withdrawals and open the list for the year, e.g. 'Products recalled in 2026'.
  2. Compare the product name, generic (INN) name and batch number with your pack. Each entry also shows the manufacturer and reason for recall.
  3. Check the Rapid Alerts and Safety Communication lists too. They cover high-risk quality defects and safety warnings.
  4. Report a suspected poor-quality medicine at pv.pharmacyboardkenya.org, pms@ppb.go.ke or +254 795 743 049.

Watch out

  • Recall lists name specific batch numbers, so check the batch number on your pack, not just the brand.
  • Safety Communication is about medicines still in use: it tells you what precautions to take, not only what has been pulled.

Who can apply

  • Anyone. The lists are public and free to check.
