Get a KRA PIN for a company, partnership or NGO

Apply on iTax: choose New PIN Registration, pick Non-Individual and fill the online form with the company's details, tax obligations and directors. KRA processes it within 5 working days once it has the documents.

What you need
- Company: certificate of incorporation (or registration certificate) from the Registrar of Companies
- Company: CR12 showing the directors and shareholders
- Partnership: certificate of registration showing the partners' names
- Partnership: the partnership deed
- Partnership: each partner's KRA PIN
- NGO: certificate of registration number and the KRA PIN of at least one trustee or director
Steps
- Go to itax.kra.go.ke and click New PIN Registration.
- Choose Non-Individual as the taxpayer type and Online Form as the mode of registration.
- Fill in the basic information, tick the tax obligations that apply, and add the directors or partners. Agent details are optional.
- Submit. You get an acknowledgement receipt with a reference number to track the application until it is approved.
Watch out
- Every director needs their own KRA PIN before you apply, so sort those out first.
- If KRA refuses to register you, it must tell you in writing within 14 days.
