Log in to the SHA member portal (Afya Yangu) and check your status

Go to afyayangu.go.ke, click Login, enter your ID number and SHA PIN, then type the one-time code sent to your phone. To only check if you're covered, use eligibility.sha.go.ke.

- Where
- Online at afyayangu.go.ke (member portal) and eligibility.sha.go.ke (coverage check). Without internet, dial *147# or call 0800 720 601 free.
What you need
- Your ID number and SHA PIN
- The phone (or email) you registered with, to receive the one-time code
Steps
- Open afyayangu.go.ke, click Login and enter your ID number and PIN.
- Enter the one-time PIN (OTP) sent to your registered phone and email. Your account opens.
- To see your contributions, generate a statement of account. It shows what you've paid and any penalties.
- To change your details, go to your profile and click the edit icon.
- To check if you or a family member is covered, go to eligibility.sha.go.ke, pick the ID type (national ID, birth certificate number and others) and enter the number.
Watch out
- Forgot your PIN? Reset it on afyayangu.go.ke.
- There is no official SHA mobile app yet, so be careful with apps claiming to be SHA. Use afyayangu.go.ke or *147#.
- Wrong photo, signature or details on your profile? Log in and fix them with the edit icon.
