Pay your water bill or get a new connection in Eldoret (ELDOWAS)

Pay your Eldoret water bill on M-Pesa paybill 511000, using your ELDOWAS water account number as the account. For a new connection, the property owner fills the ELDOWAS form, brings ID, KRA PIN, title deed and a location sketch, then pays a KSh 2,500 deposit and KSh 2,500 connection fee.

What you need
- Photocopy of your national ID or passport
- Photocopy of your KRA PIN certificate (on the same page as the ID copy)
- Copy of the title deed or other proof of land ownership
- 2 sketches of the location (location plan)
Steps
- To pay a bill: M-Pesa > Lipa na M-Pesa > Paybill, business number 511000, account number = your ELDOWAS water account number (starts with 30 or 31).
- To check your bill, SMS ELDOWAS, a space, then your account number to 40024 (for example: ELDOWAS 30XXXXX).
- For a new connection, download and fill the application form, then take it with your documents to an ELDOWAS customer care office.
- An ELDOWAS technician visits the site to check the details on your form. Be there for the visit.
- Pay the charges. ELDOWAS then connects the water at your premises and gives you an account number.
Watch out
- ELDOWAS no longer takes cash. Pay by M-Pesa paybill 511000 or into its bank accounts.
- If the site visit finds wrong details on your form, you have to start the application again.
- Disconnected? Clear the full balance and pay a KSh 1,000 reconnection fee.
Who can apply
- Landlords and property owners. Tenants can't apply for a new connection themselves
