Pay your water bill or get a new connection in Kilifi and Mariakani (KIMAWASCO)

KIMAWASCO's website does not list an M-Pesa paybill, so pay using the details on your bill and always quote your account number; call 0727 110 711 if unsure. For a new connection, bring your ID, KRA PIN and land papers (tenants: tenancy agreement) to a KIMAWASCO office.

- New connection charges are as approved by the regulator (WASREB) and depend on your customer type. Ask the office for the current amounts.

What you need
- Copy of your national ID and KRA PIN certificate
- Copy of the ID of an alternative contact person
- Land ownership documents (title deed, sale or lease agreement)
- For tenants: tenancy agreement, and the landlord signs the landlord's certificate on the form
- For companies: certificate of incorporation and PIN certificate
Steps
- To pay a bill, use the payment details on your KIMAWASCO bill and always use your account number as the reference.
- Register your phone number and email with KIMAWASCO. Bills come by SMS within the month and by email at month end.
- For a new connection, fill the Individual Consumer Application Form (download it from the KIMAWASCO site or get it at the office) and attach copies of your documents.
- Submit it at a KIMAWASCO office and pay the connection charges you are given.
Watch out
- KIMAWASCO agents may not collect cash from you.
- Not getting your bill? The account may still be under someone else's phone. Register it in your own name.
- Reconnection after a cut-off attracts fees and penalties set in the water tariff.
