Pay your water bill or get a new connection in Meru (MEWASS)

Pay your Meru water bill on M-Pesa paybill 918350, using your bill account number, or at any Equity Bank branch or agent. For a new connection, apply with your ID, KRA PIN and land documents, then pay a KSh 2,500 deposit and a KSh 2,500 connection fee plus pipe costs.

What you need
- Photocopy of your ID and KRA PIN
- Copy of the title deed, or a rates demand note from Meru County
- For tenants: copy of the landlord's ID and KRA PIN
- For companies: KRA PIN and certificate of incorporation, with the company stamp or seal
- A sketch showing where your premises are
Steps
- To pay a bill: M-Pesa > Pay Bill, business number 918350, account number = the account number on your bill.
- Or pay at any Equity Bank branch or agent.
- To check your balance or statement, install the Mewass app from Google Play and add your account number.
- For a new connection, download the Application for New Water Connection form and fill it in.
- Hand in the form with copies of your ID or passport, PIN certificate and land ownership documents, then pay the deposit and connection charges.
Watch out
- If you are cut off, clear the bill plus a KSh 500 reconnection fee. Water is back within 24 hours.
- Can't clear it all? You can be reconnected after a part payment if you sign an agreement to pay the rest in instalments.
- Reconnecting your own water is a criminal offence.
- Never pay your bill through MEWASS staff.

- Anyone in the MEWASS area with no unpaid bills on other MEWASS accounts
