Pay your water bill or get a new connection in Nyeri (NYEWASCO)

Pay your Nyeri water bill on M-Pesa paybill 968800, using your NYEWASCO water account number as the account. For a new connection, fill the NYEWASCO form with your ID, KRA PIN and title deed (or a letter from your landlord), then pay a KSh 2,500 deposit and KSh 2,500 connection fee.

What you need
- Copy of your national ID and KRA PIN certificate
- Copy of the title deed, or an introduction letter from the agent or landlord
- The filled NYEWASCO application form
- For companies: certificate of incorporation, KRA PIN, title deed and CR12
Steps
- To pay a bill: M-Pesa > Lipa na M-Pesa > Paybill, business number 968800, account number = your NYEWASCO water account number.
- To check your bill, dial *873*019#, choose option 1 and pick your account number.
- For a new connection, apply online from the NYEWASCO New Water Connection page, or download the form (or get it at the office) and hand it in with your documents.
- NYEWASCO approves the application. Pay all the fees, and the connection is then done.
Watch out
- For a new connection, the form has a part that a Nyeri County Government officer must sign and stamp, confirming you have met the county's requirements.
- NYEWASCO no longer takes cash. Pay by M-Pesa paybill 968800 or into its bank accounts.
- Tenants: the landlord or agent signs a guarantee on the form and must be told of any move one month ahead.
