Directorate of eCitizen · sources read 1 Oct 2026
Pay for any eCitizen service at checkout with M-Pesa (paybill 222222), Airtel Money, card or Pesalink, and keep the receipt. To change your phone number or email, log in and go to Account Management; if you're locked out or the site isn't working, call the eCitizen Directorate on +254 20 790 3260.
- Fee
- We couldn't confirm a fee from the official page. Check it there before you pay.
- Where
- Online at ecitizen.go.ke; help from the Directorate of eCitizen, 17th Floor, Nyayo House, Nairobi (+254 20 790 3260)
Steps
- To pay, open the service's checkout on eCitizen and choose M-Pesa (or Airtel Money, Visa/MasterCard, Pesalink, a KCB/Equity cash deposit or RTGS), then follow the prompts.
- eCitizen's M-Pesa paybill is 222222. The account number depends on the service (Boma Yangu savings, for example, use BOMA plus your ID number), so use the one the service gives you.
- After paying you get a confirmation receipt with the bill reference and account. Keep it as proof of payment.
- To change your phone number or email, log in to eCitizen, open Account Management and update it.
- Forgot your password, lost your old number, or the site isn't working? Call the Directorate of eCitizen on +254 20 790 3260 or visit their office on the 17th Floor, Nyayo House, Nairobi.
Watch out
- Every login sends a one-time code to your registered phone or email, so update them before you lose access to the old number or email.
- Some services add a convenience fee on top of the service cost.
- Paying doesn't finish the job: most applications still go through review, and the waiting time depends on the service.
Who can apply
- Kenyan citizens, residents and foreigners with an eCitizen account.
